Part of the registration process of becoming a referee, along with attending a clinic, is writing an exam, buying equipment/supplies, and paying a registration fee. This fee is totally separate from the fee paid to attend a clinic. You need to be prepared to pay these fees, and buy required supplies when you attend your clinic. The instructor of your clinic will collect the money from you, it can be cash or cheque (not post-dated). Instructors will not be carrying any change. You will need the Case/Rule book for study during class, please make sure to have $15 ready to buy the book at the start of class.
REGISTRATION RATES:Insurance for all participants (unless paid with minor hockey team), is $36.00 (Inc. G.S.T.).
This year because of the online registration system, you must pay your registration fees at the clinic before you can write your exam. To calculate how much you owe, pick your level, everyone pays the Admin fee in column 2, if you live in Edmonton or receive assignments from the SR male or female assignors you also pay the fee in column 3, and if you are NOT registered with a Hockey Alberta team, you also pay the fee in column 4. Your instructor at your clinic will help you if you are not sure if you need to pay the fees in column 3 or 4. Please bring payment with you to your clinic. SUPPLIES:
Other Items you will need that are not sold at clinic, Referee Jersey, Whistle (with finger grips), Black CSA Approved Helmet, and CSA Approved Half Visor or Half Cage. These are all available at most sporting goods stores. Note: Referee jerseys that are like the ones worn in the NHL (black mesh under the arms) are not approved for hockey in Alberta. Jerseys with Orange arm bands are also not approved. *The above amounts all include G.S.T. |
