What is it?

The Referee Development Camp is run in conjunction with the Male Under 16 Development Camp each year. This is the third stage of Referee Development, the first two (2) being the Alberta Cup Zone Camp, and the Alberta Cup Competition. Eighteen (18) officials (6 from the North Zone) are invited to this week long development camp. Six (6) instructors will take the participants through referee procedures, techniques and positioning; off-ice training and fitness testing; quizzes and exams; as well as specialty seminars delivered from guest speakers on topics such as nutrition, weight training; and the life of a professional official.

Who Can Go?

Any official registered in our zone between the ages of 18 & 30. The selection process does not focus on elite officials, rather on officials who will help better the program throughout the zone. (Emphasis is being placed on the rural officials.)
