The Colin Hackett Commemorative Stickers are in and printed with a picture included in this posting.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and Vice Chairman Colin Hackett. During this time our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Colin Hackett was an inspiration to everyone he met, dedicated to helping others, and most importantly a friend to all.
The North Zone would like to extend its most sincere condolences to Colin's family and friends.

The North Zone general meeting on Monday, November 21st has been cancelled.

On September 30th Cole and I arrived at the airport in the morning to catch a flight to Vancouver to attend the OPOE camp hosted by Hockey Canada. Going into the camp, I tried to gather as much information as I could from previous officials who had attended the camp in order to prepare myself for the weekend. The one comment I believe I gathered from almost everyone was how awful the yo-yo test is, and I can now tell you, they weren't wrong.

Please be advise to all North Zone officials that the deadline to replace the old Hockey Alberta crest with the new crest is December 15, 2016.

OPOE was nothing but a positive experience. This is a weekend that is absolutely jammed with developmental opportunities from the moment you step off the plane. What you can expect from this weekend is to be very tired when you head home, and hopefully a better official. For my years group, once we got there we immediately were put through a warmup followed power skating from the NHL officials guru Dave Smith.
